RIZAL, Nueva Ecija -- Police collared during a search warrant operation a 67-year-old man for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Arrested was Dewey Magarro, of Bgy. Canaan East, this town.
Chief Insp. Manuel T. Catacutan, town police head said the suspect yielded an unlicensed cal.9mm Browning pistol loaded with seven bullets when members of the local police led by Insp. Antonio Manucot searched his premises on the strength of a warrant issued by executive judge Ana Marie C. Joson-Viterbo, of the Cabanatuan City regional trial court branch 24.
Catacutan said the seized firearm will be subjected to ballistic examination to determine if it was used in the commission of other crimes.
The arrested suspect is now locked up in jail facing gun charges before the provincial prosecutor’s office in Cabanatuan City.
Meanwhile, in a subsequent buy-bust operation, Catacutan said his men collared suspected pusher Jerome Bryan Marcos, who yielded two plastic sachets containing shabu and a P500-marked money used in the buy-bust operation.
