CABANATUAN CITY -- Nueva Ecija first district congressional aspirant and senior board member Rommel Padilla is in favor of making public the names of those included in the so-called “narco-pols-list.”
During a media forum with members of the Nueva Ecija Press Club, Inc. held Friday afternoon, Padilla said the narco-pols-list should be publicized so that the people will know those candidates involved in illegal drugs and be guided accordingly when they cast vote in the May midterm polls.
“Opo, palagay ko po dapat lang (i-sa-publiko),” said Padilla, himself an actor and father of teen idol Daniel Padilla, when asked for his take on the plan of Interior and Local Government Sec. Eduardo Año to bare the names of narco-pols.
The actor-politician’s view echoed the position of President Duterte, who earlier said he fully supports the release of the names on the narco-list because according to Sec. Año it would help the public decide who to vote for or not.
Padilla is Nueva Ecija first district’s official congressional bet of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago which earlier coalesced with the Unang Sigaw-Partido ng Pagbabago of the former Gov. Aurelio M. Umali. He is one of the actor-sons of late former Camarines Norte Gov. Roy Padilla Sr. and former actress Lolita Eva Cariño, of Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija.
The congressional wanna be also took a positive response when asked whether he is in favor that all politicians and candidates take a “compulsory” drug test.
“Dapat compulsory din ang drug testing dito, kung talagang malinis ang mga pumapasok na kandidato sa pulitika,” stressed the elder brother of action star Robin Padilla, the acknowledged “Bad Boy of Philippine Cinema.”
