Electrician shot while sleeping

A 60-year-old electrician died on the spot after being shot while sleeping inside his residence in Bgy. Lumil, San Jose, Batangas, Saturday evening.  

San Jose Municipal Police Station chief Major Neil Christopher C. Gaspar identified the victim as Miguel Rodriguez y Alday, a resident of the said village.

The suspect who immediately fled after the killing was  identified by Gaspar as 39-year-old Arnold Andal y Rodriguez, a laborer.

Initial investigation disclosed that while Rodriguez, also a laborer, was inside his house and sleeping alone at around 5:30 p.m. on February 1 when Andal arrived and shot the victim several times that caused his instantaneous death.

Witnesses said that prior to the incident, the duo had a drinking spree that led to misunderstanding and heated argument.

The local police of San Jose town conducted a full investigation and a follow-up operation for possible arrest of the fleeing suspect.
