FIVE members of a family were killed and burned alive in their home  in  Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte yesterday. 

Police identified the fatalities as Carlito Advincula Aban,  60; Rosalia Navales Quirit, 45; Aldrin Berdanio Aban,  20; Shannyn Cris Berdanio Aban, 17; and Stephen Advincula Aban, 13,  all of Sitio Padaun, Bgy. Candiz , Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.

Before Aldrin was killed, he was able to call his brother Tairon Aban saying Elpidio Obiniana alias “Balondong” and other unidentified suspects were in their place and were burning their house around 12:40 a.m. yesterday. Aldrin said the suspects were killing them  one by one. Members of the Siocon Municipal Police Station, together with operatives from the 1st  Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company, 42nd IB Phil Army, BFP and RHU personnel headed by Dra. Mary Therese Acevedo rushed to Sitio Padaun.

However,  the  house was already razed to the ground, including the five victims, when they arrived.

Aside from the burnt bodies of the five victims,  authorities recovered at the crime scene  three spent  cartridge  cases of  a .45 pistol and Shannyn’s phone case.
