POLICE Regional Office 7 director Chief Supt. Debold Sinas yesterday ordered a massive hunt for the suspect or suspects who brutally killed a 16-year-old grade schooler and sliced her face down to her neck at a vacant lot in Lapu-Lapu City.

The body of Christine Lee Silawan, a Grade 9 student at the Mactan High School residing in Sitio Dapdap in Soong, Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City, was discovered on an empty lot in Sitio Mahayahay in the nearby Bgy. Bankal at 6:45 a.m. yesterday.

Early Sunday morning, the victim asked permission from her mother to attend mass at the Sacred Heart Church in Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City.

Police said that the victim was last seen by a friend around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Other reports said that when found, the girl, who served as a collector in the Sacred Heart Church, was half-naked, with half of her face skinned. However, the PRO7 did not confirm nor deny the report.

“We are also looking for witnesses who could shed light on this case. We are appealing to all who have valuable information regarding this heinous case to come forward and testify so that justice would be served the victim and her family,” Sinas said.
