CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Assorted long and short firearms and ammunitions were seized by regional police intelligence operatives in Jaen, Nueva Ecija yesterday morning.
Supt. Jay Dimaandal, chief of the Regional Intelligence Division-Special Concern Unit, said the cache of guns and ammunitions were confiscated from Roderick Mauricio during the serving of a search warrant issued against him by Gapan Regional Trial Court Judge Celso Baguio for violation of Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act of 2002.
The raiding team found at the the suspect’s residence in Barangay Langla a 5.56 M4 rifle, a .22 rifle, three .45 Armscor, a .45 ST1 Spartan, two . 9mm Beretta, a .38 Colt with scope, a .380 Walter, one .375 Taurus Magnum, and a .25 Army Tanfuglio.
Dimaandal said some of firearms were unlicensed and the licensed firearms included a .45 Armscor, a .30 Carbine, a . 9mm Jericho, and a .45 Colt.
The seized bullets include 182 bullets for .30; 323 live bullets for .45; 72 bullets for .9mm; 284 bullets for .38; 357 live ammunition for .357; 170 live bulets for .5.56; 23 bullets for M14; six bullets for .22, and one for .50 gun.
