A MEMBER of a gun-for- hire  group and a drug pusher was killed on Tuesday in an encounter with lawmen conducting a drug sting in San Pablo City, Laguna.

Laguna Provincial Police Director Col. Serafin Petalio II identified the slain suspect as Jeffrey Arazo, of Bgy. Bautista, San Pablo City, who is also in the San Pablo City Police’s drug watchlist.

Joint operatives of the San Pablo Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Laguna conducted the buy-bust on the suspect.

A police poseur managed to buy a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of shabu worth P1,000 from Arazo. When the suspect sensed he was dealing with lawmen, he pulled out a gun and fired at the poseur but missed, prompting the operatives to retaliate.

Arazo was rushed to San Pablo City General Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival from multiple gunshot wounds.
