POLICE Regional Office 2 director, Brigadier General Crizaldo O. Nieves yesterday announced the arrest of three known drug personalities including a ‘high-value target’ in separate buy-bust operations in Cagayan province on Sunday.
In a report to Philippine National Police chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, the official identified the suspects as Alvin Pascua, a 40-year- old self-employed resident of Punta, Aparri town who has been tagged as a ‘high-value individual,’ Marichie Medicinaceli,30, a resident of Aparri; and Juan Soriano,25, a tricycle driver from San Isidro, Iguig municipality.
Nieves said that Pascua and Medicinaceli, both staying at Zone 6, Barangay Tanza in Tuguegarao City were arrested in a buy-bust operation at 6 p.m. Sunday which led in the confiscation of 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu, the boodle money topped by a marked P500 bill and a cell phone they used in making contact with the poseur.
Members of the Cagayan Police Provincial Office under Colonel Ariel N. Quilang arrested the two in Tuguegarao North-East Elementary School in Tuguegarao City.
On the other hand, Soriano was arrested after he sold drugs to an undercover officer in Bgy. Sta. Barbara in Iguig municipality. The suspect yielded a heat-sealed plastic sachet containing the drugs and a marked P500 bill.
Nieves said the three suspects will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
