RIZAL, Nueva Ecija -- A most wanted felon facing two murder cases and a frustrated murder case in Isabela was nabbed during manhunt operations conducted by the police here on Friday.

Nabbed was Rolando Esquerra, 53, farmer, of Bgy. Del Pilar, this town, said town police head Major Herbert Ocumen.

Joint operatives from the San Manuel, Isabela police, and the municipal police collared the suspect at his hideout at 1:35 p.m.

Ocumen tagged him as number one in the most wanted person list of the Isabela provincial police office and the top nine most wanted in the Region 2 level.

He said the suspect's arrest was implemented on the strength of three arrest warrants issued against him by Regional Trial Court Judge Bernabe B. Mendoza, of RTC Branch 23, of Roxas, Isabela.

These three arrest warrants are for two counts of murder with no bail recommended issued by Judge Bernabe on September 1, 2014 and June 8, 2015, and another for frustrated murder dated July 22, 2014 with P200,000 bail recommended.

"Babae daw po iyung isang biktima na pinatay ng suspect. Pinatay niya daw po dahil minura siya," Ocumen told this reporter in a text message.
