K9 sniffs P.68M shabu in Bacolod airport warehouse

A NARCOTICS Detection Dog or K-9 of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency last Saturday led officers to the presence of some P680,000 worth of shabu concealed in a package sent to the Bacolod-Silay Airport Cargo Warehouse, PDEA chair, Director General Aaron N. Aquino reported yesterday.

According to the official, members of the PDEA Regional Office VI  conducted parcel profiling and K-9 sweeping in the cargo warehouse inside the Bacolod-Silay Airport located along  Airport Road, Silay City in Negros Occidental to detect the presence of drug contraband.  

During the inspection, the K-9 indicated behavior for the presence of dangerous drug on a package which, when opened was found to be containing one knot-tied transparent plastic packet with around 100 grams of suspected shabu worth P680,000.

Other items were used to cover the drugs, he said.

Aquino said that an investigation into the real identity of the shipper and the consignee indicated in the parcel is now underway.
