Pangasinan vice gubernatorial candidate Mark Lambino decried the “cold-blooded murder” of Levin Uy, a former three-term councilor of Bayambang town in Pangasinan.

Uy was jogging along a dike near his residence in Barangay Poblacion when shot dead by still unidentified assailants on November 16 while his companion was wounded.

Lambino urged the Philippine National Police and the Department of Justice “to conduct a thorough investigation to unmask the perpetrators of the crime and bring them to justice.”

“If this killing of Councilor Uy is politically-motivated, there is more reason for us to abhor those behind this treacherous and cowardly act,” Lambino stressed.

Uy is running for re-election in next year’s polls along with Bayambang incumbent mayor Cezar Quiambao and Lambino’s running mate, Pangasinan gubernatorial candidate Arthur Celeste, who is mayor of Alaminos City.

Lambino praised Uy as “a respected public servant well-loved by the people of Bayambang.”

“He is a great loss to his family, his supporters and political allies and the whole community,” said Lambino, the eldest son of Secretary Raul L. Lambino, Presidential Adviser for Northern Luzon and concurrent CEZA Administrator and Chief Executive Officer.
