Laguna barangay chief shot, killed

A 50-YEAR-OLD barangay chairman was shot and killed by an unidentified armed suspect who forcibly entered the victim’s house early yesterday morning in Bgy. Lucong, Mabitac, Laguna.

Laguna Provincial Director PCol. Serafin Petalio II, identified the victim as Alfredo Facundo.

He was pronounced dead on arrival due to multiple gunshot wounds in his body from 9mm caliber pistol and . 45 caliber with gun silencer used by the suspect.

Mabitac police said Facundo is the incumbent chairman of Bgy. Lucong, Mabitac, Laguna.

Initial investigation said the shooting incident took place at around 12:30 a.m. while the victim was eating inside their house.

The armed suspect forcibly entered the victim’s house and without any word shot Facundo repeatedly hitting him in different parts of the body.

The suspect fled going to Siniloan.

PCpl. Jared Cardines said the victim sustained more or less ten gunshot wounds from close range.
