Lolo hits checkpoint sign, hurt

A 71-YEAR-old man believed to be under the influence of liquor was injured when he accidentally hit a checkpoint signage in San Juan, Siquijor on Wednesday evening, in the process falling down the asphalted road, Police Regional Office 7 director Chef Superintendent Debold M. Sinas said yesterday.

Victim Roberto Ligones, a married resident of Barangay Solangao in San Juan municipality was driving his motorbike along the local highway when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle while being flagged down by officers. He later accidentally hit the signage and fell down the asphalted road past 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The old man was taken to a local hospital for treatment while his motorcycle was impounded at the San Juan Municipal Police Station.
