LIAN, Batangas -- Police on Saturday reported that a back rider man was shot dead while on board a motorcycle driven by a friend in Bgy. San Diego, town police chief Senior Insp. John Conrad A. Villanueva identified the victim as Victor Mendoza Villafranca.
Investigators said the victim was on board a Honda TMX motorcycle driven by Rolan C. Jonson when was shot dead at 4:50 p.m. by an unidentified suspect who fled on foot after the incident.
Police said the frightened Jonson was unharmed.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) was requested for technical investigation of the case.
Meanwhile, the Balayan police conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the apprehension of Raymond Arquileta Pantoja, the no. 8 drug personality in Lambat Sibat Phase 2 in this town at 2:45 p.m. Confiscated were six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, two marked P500 bills, mentos metal container and a Samsung cellphone containing illegal drugs transactions.
Pantoja was released after plea bargaining last March 6 but police said he continues with his illegal drug transactions in Bgy. Dist 10 and in nearby Balayan.
In Lemery town, police arrested Alberto Marcellana Balbacal during a buy-bust on Sunday at 12:15 a.m. in Bgy. Maguihan. Recovered were three plastic sachets of suspected shabu (0.12 gram) placed inside a coin purse and the marked P500.
In Batangas City, police head Supt. Sancho O. Celedio collared Jonathan Raul Plata, alias Athan, 37, a fruit vendor, married, of Bgy. Mahabang Parang.
The city police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) implemented search warrant no. 2018-24-BC in Bgy. Mahabang Parang at 7 a.m. issued by Judge Dorcas Ferriols-Perez of Branch 84 which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
Case officer SPO1 Damayan and his team recovered 10 plastic sachets of suspected shabu placed in a plastic case.
