MILF commander-turned drug dealer nabbed in Antipolo

POLICE Regional Office 4-A director, Brigadier General Edward E. Carranza yesterday announced the arrest of a purported brigade commander of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and his female companion after they conspired to sell  some P375,000 worth of shabu to an undercover officer in Antipolo City.

Carranza identified the suspects as Jamel Sultan Boran, said to be the commander of the 119th MILF Base Command based in Dilabaytan Bubong, Lanao del Sur and Princess Bio Lumpa alias ‘Ida Muslim,’ a wanted drug dealer in Calabarzon region.

He said members of the Antipolo City Police Station Drug Enforcement Team, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the PRO4-A Regional Intelligence Division 4-A arrested the two during an entrapment operation in Broadway, Barangay de la Paz, Antipolo City at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Recovered from the possession of the suspects were 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing P375,000 worth of shabu and the boodle money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.

Rizal police director, Colonel Lou F. Evangelista said that Boran has a standing warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Wenida Kapandayan of the Lanao del Sur Regional Trial Court Branch 12.

The official said the suspect is also believed to be involved in the ambush of five PDEA agents in Bgy. Malna in Kapai, Lanao del Sur where he was considered as a  big-time drug dealer.
