A 30-YEAR old employee of an El Nido beach resort in Palawan early morning yesterday was arrested by the local police in an anti-narcotics operation triggered by reports about him selling shabu to local residents and tourists, Police Regional Office 4-B director Chief Supt. Tomas C. Apolinario Jr. said.
Suspect Jiboy dela Torre, a staff member of the Kawayan Island Resort residing in Sitio San Jose, Bgy. Culasian, Dumaran, Palawan, was arrested after he sold shabu to an undercover officer of the El Nido Municipal Police Station at 12:50 a.m. yesterday, said Apolinario.
The official said the suspect yielded nine heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a marked P500 bill paid to him by the poseur, a mobile phone he used in the drug deal and P1,040 in different denominations.
The suspect is now being held at the El Nido police detention facility, facing non-bailable charges for selling and possession of dangerous drugs under RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Apolinario.
