Most wanted terror suspect falls in Cebu

AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Intelligence Group (PNP-IG) shortly before noon yesterday captured an Abu Sayyaf bandit who went into hiding in Cebu City after becoming wanted for a series of terror activities in Mindanao, PNP-IG director, Brigadier General Edgar S. Monsalve said.

In a report to PNP chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, the official identified the arrested suspect as Jimmy Igpit Marababol, an ASG member who is also known for his affiliation with the radical Daulah Islamiyah terror group which gained notoriety for its involvement in the infamous Marawi City siege in 2017.

According to Monsalve, a Regional Intelligence Unit 7-initiated operation along M. J. Cuenco Street in Barangay Tinago in Cebu City resulted in the capture of Marababol who is the subject of a warrant of arrest for kidnapping and serious illegal detention issued by Judge Anthony Isaw of the Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte Regional Trial Court Branch 28.
