Motorbike thief dies in Bulacan shootout

AN armed motorcycle theft suspect was killed in a shootout with policemen in San Ildefonso, Bulacan on Friday, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe reported yesterday.

The slain suspect identified as Federico Sioson, a resident of Barangay Tikay in Malolos City yielded a loaded caliber .38 revolver, two heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and a motorbike he reportedly stole from its owner in Bgy. Makapilapil in San Ildefonso municipality, said the official in a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Rhodel O. Sermonia.

According to Cajipe, members of the San Ildefonso Municipal Police Station headed by Major Russel Dennis Reburiano pursued the suspect after the motorcycle theft case was reported to them by the victim.

The Bulacan police director said officers were forced to fire at the suspect when he started shooting at them after being cornered.

Cajipe also announced the arrest of four known drug personalities in the province during separate buy-bust operations in Balagtas, Pulilan and San Rafael municipalities and in San Jose del Monte City yesterday.

He identified the suspects as Roel Cabrera, Aniceto Lopez, Ariel Clemente and Roque Cabanggunay who yielded 15 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu and the marked money paid to them by undercover officers.
