SAN Juan, Batangas -- A motorcycle driver died on the spot while one of his back riders was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after they crashed into the road barrier while traversing along national highway in Bgy. Bataan, here, the report said on Tuesday.
Police said the two fatalities were identified as Vincent Bernal, MC driver, 20-24 years old, and back rider Jay Cyrus Ramos Hernandez, 15, who died at the hospital. Another back rider, Jeric Rosales Tumulod is still undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Investigation showed that the tragic incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. when the victims on board a motorcycle being driven by Bernal along with his two back riders were heading towards Bgy. Laiya, this town, when the vehicle went out of control and hit the left portion of the concrete barriers while overtaking another vehicle.
Bernal sustained severe head injuries resulting in his instantaneous death while his two back riders were brought by concerned citizens to the San Juan District Hospital where Hernandez was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dra. Ronalie Tamondong.
