BUKIDNON police launched a manhunt for a wanted murder suspect who shot and seriously wounded a 29-year-old truck driver during their fistfight in Malaybalay City, Friday afternoon.
Police Regional Office 10 director Brigadier General Rolando B. Anduyan said Jason Bularon, 20, of Purok 5, Bgy. Magsaysay, Malaybalay City, fled on a motorcycle after shooting Ariel Boycillo, of Purok 5-A, Bgy. Aglayan around 5 p.m.
Boycillo was taken to the Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center for treatment.
According to Malaybalay City police led by Major Donald Cordero, prior to the shooting incident, the victim and his companion were waiting to load their sugarcane products when the suspect arrived and confronted the victim that led to a fistfight. After being downed by a punch, the suspect pulled out a pistol from his backpack and shot the victim five times. However, only a single bullet hit the victim in the hip and he managed to flee to safety before he was taken to the hospital.
The police were told by the victim’s relatives that personal grudge and vendetta could be the motive behind the gun attack of the suspect, who was reported to be facing a murder case in December 2017. The suspect was made to believe that it was Boycillo who testified against him which led to the filing of the criminal charges against him.
