BUKIDNON policemen have launched a hunt for a wanted murder suspect who shot and seriously wounded a 29-year old truck driver at the height of their fistfight in Malaybalay City late afternoon Friday.
Police Regional Office 10 director, Brigadier General Rolando B. Anduyan, identified the suspect as Jason Bularon,20, a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Magsaysay, Malaybalay City.
The official said that the suspect fled on board his motorcycle after shooting Ariel Boycillo, a resident of Purok 5-A, Bgy. Aglayan St. 5 p.m. Friday. The victim suffered a lone gunshot wound in the body and was taken to the Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center for treatment.
An investigation conducted by Malaybalay City policemen led by Major Donald Cordero showed that prior to the shooting incident, the victim and his companion were waiting for their fellows who will load their sugarcane product when the suspect arrived and immediately alighted from his motorbike.
Shortly after, the suspect confronted the victim leading to an argument which triggered the fistfight. After being downed by a punch, the suspect pulled out a pistol from his backpack and shot the victim five times.
However, only a single bullet hit the victim in his right hip. The local police said that although wounded, Boycillo managed to flee to safety and was eventually taken to the hospital.
The local police said they were told by the victim’s relatives that personal grudge and vendetta could be the motive of the suspect who was reported to be facing a murder case filed in December 2017.
Accordingly, the suspect was fed with information that it was Boycillo who testified against him leading to the filing of the criminal charges against him.
Malaybalay City policemen are still tracking down the suspect as of press time.
