CABANATUAN City -- The National Irrigation Administration-Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation Systems (NIA-UPRIIS), the operator of Pantabangan Dam, revamped its Division 3 office and installed a female civil works specialist as its new head during simple rites held in this city on Thursday.
Designated as the new UPRIIS acting division 3 chief was engineer Elenita Toquero, the erstwhile civil works section chief of the NIA’s Dam and Reservoir Division.
She replaced engineer Jose Ariel Domingo, who held the post since 2017.
Domingo was re-assigned as acting division manager of the Interim Division 6 office in Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
NIA-UPRIIS department manager Rosalinda Bote, who supervised last Thursday’s turn-over ceremony, said NIA administrator Ricardo Visaya ordered the reassignment in the exigency of the service.
Toquero became the second woman to head the UPRIIS Division 3 office after the post was previously held by engineer Josephine Salazar before the latter was promoted as UPRIIS operations manager and now-regional irrigation manager of NIA-Region 3.
The newly-installed acting division 3 chief is the wife of NIA-Region 5 (Bicol Region) regional manager Freddie Toquero, who was a former UPRIIS Division 1 chief in Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija.
