A MEMBER of Philippine Military Academy “Maringal” Class of 1988, Brigadier General Joel S. Orduña, was formally installed by Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar D. Albayalde as the new Police Regional Office 1 director in Ilocos-Pangasinan region.
As the new Ilocos-Pangasinan police regional director, the official vowed to further strengthen the campaign against illegal drug trafficking, criminality, internal security operations and internal cleansing in accordance with Gen. Albayalde’s priority programs.
He specifically ordered a much tougher crackdown against illegal drug trafficking and abuse in the region which comprises the provinces of Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan and La Union and assured the citizenry that he will have a ‘zero tolerance’ on rogues in police uniform especially those who are directly or indirectly involved in illegal drugs.
Orduña, the erstwhile director of the PNP Aviation Security Group replaced newly-retired Brig. Gen. Romulo E. Sapitula of PNP Academy Class 1986.
The new PRO1 director was replaced by his mistah, Brig. Gen. Anthony S. Alcañeses.
Journal Group sources said another PMA Class 1988 member, Brig. Gen. R’ Win S. Pagkalinawan, is also set to become the new PNP Maritime Group director vice soon-to-retire Brig. Gen. Rodelio B. Jocson.
Pagkalinawan is currently the Deputy Regional Director for Administration of the Cordillera Police Regional Office.
