
North Cotabato mayor survives gun attack
A MAYOR in North Cotabato yesterday survived a gun attack by van-riding men in Libungan town.
Libungan Mayor Christopher “Amping” Cuan was about to ride his vehicle in front of the municipal hall when a man riding a van and armed with M16 armalite rifle shot him at 1:40 p.m. yesterday.
The mayor was quick to take cover.
Janitor Alejandro Catulong, 57, who happened to be at the area, was hit by a stray bullet.
Authorities are pursuing the suspects who immediately escaped after the shooting.
