A SUSPECTED big-time drug trafficker in Central Visayas was killed in a gunbattle with undercover police anti-narcotics agents in Lapu-Lapu City late evening Wednesday, Police Regional Office 7 director, Brigadier General Debold M. Sinas said yesterday.
Suspect Manuel Paz Baclohan alias ‘Sungkil,’ a 47-year- old ‘high-value drug target’ in Central Visayas who is living in Zone Litob, Barangay Calawisan had just sold shabu to a police-poseur around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when he sensed the entrapment operation and tried to shoot the cop with a concealed pistol but missed.
Sinas said that back-up operatives led by Major Wayne Magbanua returned fire killing the suspect on the spot.
Recovered from the slain suspect’s possession were four heat-sealed plastic packets containing around 15 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ worth P102,000, a chamber-loaded caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing five live ammunition, and the boodle money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.
Sinas said Baclohan is listed as among the Top 6 target drug personalities in Lapu-Lapu City where he is known as an ‘HVT Level 2 drug personality.’
