STA. ROSA, Nueva Ecija – Two unidentified helmet-wearing, motorcycle-riding assassins gunned down a 36-year-old organic fertilizer agent while the latter was driving his tricycle with his four co-workers on board as passengers here on Friday morning.
Police head Major Steven O. Dela Cruz identified the slain victim as Abraham Gutierrez, alias Abe, of Bgy. Adorable, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija.
Investigation showed the gun attack occurred along the Maharlika Highway at the Tambuating Bridge in Bgy. Luna at 5:50 a.m.
It was perpetrated by two men aboard a pink Yamaha Mio motorcycle wearing black helmet, black jacket, maong shorts, and yellow beach walk slippers.
Dela Cruz said the shooting was witnessed by the victim’s co-workers who were all onboard a black MMC motorcycle being driven by the victim. They were identified as Jayson Mangalinao, Michael Mangalinao, Victorio Mangalinao, and Elmer Navarro, all of Bgy. Adorable, San Leonardo.
Dela Cruz said the victim, who was involved in the chicken manure fertilizer business, and his co-workers were allegedly enroute to a poultry farm in Cabanatuan City when the shooting occurred.
Police investigator SSgt. Daniel P. Villanueva said the motive for the killing could be business-related.
“Maaaring sulutan sa negosyo o business-related ang kaso dahil namimili ng tae ng manok itong biktima at ginagawang fertilizer tapos kapag namimili mas mataas daw ng dalawang piso ang alok ng biktima sa presyuhan,” Villanueva told this reporter yesterday.
He said they will coordinate with the San Leonardo police about the killing.
Reports said that the latest killing was allegedly the fourth gun attack being perpetrated against supposed organic fertilizer agents in the area with two already killed and the third one surviving the slay attempt.
