CEBU City policemen on Saturday arrested two women believed to be big-time drug traffickers in Central Visayas during separate drug busts which resulted in the confiscation of neraly 1.7 kilos of shabu worth over P11 million.
Police Regional Office 7 director Chief Superintendent Debold M. Sinas said first to be arrested was Jeanrea Tabalin, 21, of Sitio Camansi in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, who was caught selling some 1.6 kilos of shabu worth P10.6 million Saturday afternoon.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were 15 plastic packets containing the drugs , a cell phone she used in making the drug transaction and the boodle money topped by several marked bills which was paid to her by an undercover officer.
Twenty-five minutes later, another sting at the Quijano Compound in Bgy. Calamba resulted in the arrest of Gertrudes Tangub, 49, of Sitio Looban in Bgy. Tejero, Cebu City. Tangub yielded some 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000 and the marked money.
The two suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for selling and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
