P1M shabu seized in Cordillera

CORDILLERA Police Regional Office director Brigadier General R’win S. Pagkalinawan yesterday announced the confiscation of over P1 million worth of shabu in two separate  operations in the region this week.

In a report to Philippine National Police chief General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, Pagkalinawan  said  agents of the Ifugao Police Provincial Office and the Lagawe Municipal police,  with the support of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, conducted a buy-bust on Yakal St., Poblacion North, Lagawe and arrested Thawadi Sameh Jr.

Seized from Sameh, 31, of Dappig, Purok 5, San Agustin, Isabela, were some 80 grams of shabu worth P544,000 and the marked money.

The second bust was at a unit in Decibar Building on Bonifacio Street,  Baguio City led to the arrest of two suspects  -- “high-value target” Carmina Patacsil, 41, of  Tuba, Benguet ; and Alvin Lachica, 42, of Rosario, La Union.

The Baguio City police  headed by Major Marlo Evasco, joined by officers from the PDEA and the National Bureau of Investigation raided the unit based on a search warrant  issued against a certain Lito Decipeda by Judge Mia Cawed.

The suspects yielded six sachets of shabu valued at P340,000, a loaded .22 Magnum revolver, a .32 pistol and assorted drug paraphernalia.
