ANGELES City -- Some P2.1 million worth of dried marijuana leaves were seized by elements of Police Station 4 in Barangay Malabanias here Monday afternoon.
In his report to city police director Col. Joyce Patrick Sangalang, Station 4 commander Maj. Aris Gonzales said four suspects, including a minor, were also arrested in the operation,.
He identified them as Ivan Gura, 18, a high value target; Rommel Gueco, 24, who is in the police drug list; Alfie Candelaria, 24; and a 17-year-old male.
Confiscated from the suspects in a buy-bust inside Hensonville Subdivision in Malabanias were 24 bricks of marijuana weighing more than 24 kilograms with street value of at least P2.1 million.
The suspects were arrested after selling P1,000 worth of marijuana to a poseur-buyer.
Gonzales said the operation was conducted through proper coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
According to Gonzales, the seized marijuana were sourced from Benguet.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165 before the Angeles City Prosecutor’s office.
Sangalang said the city police remains steadfast in enforcing the law and quarantine protocols as directed by Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen Rhodel O. Sermonia, and strengthing PRO3’s Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo program.
