ANGELES CITY -- Police here have confiscated some P4.8 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation against a high value target in Barangay Balibago last Thursday.
Police Col. Narvin Mangune, acting city police director, said the illegal drugs were seized from one Mary Anne Dedic, 35, resident of Sta. Maria Village 2 in the said barangay.
The city police’s drug enforcement unit headed by Police Lt. Col. Roger Tomen conducted a buy-bust against the suspect after receiving reliable information that the suspect was actively engaged in illegal drugs trade.
After negotiating with the suspect, a poseur-buyer was able to buy a kilogram of shabu for P1 million.
When searched, Dedic allegedly yielded a shoulder bag containing two medium plastic sachets of suspected shabu and a digital weighing scale.
The illegal drugs seized from the suspect have an estimated value of P4.8 million, according to Mangune.
The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The suspect is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Brig. Gen. Joel Napoleon Coronel, Police Regional Office 3 director, has congratulated the city police for its accomplishment.
