P840K marijuana seized in Rizal sting

TWO cannabis traffickers in Rizal province were arrested by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency after they conspired to sell some P840,000 worth of dried marijuana leaves to an undercover agent in Binangonan town, PDEA chair Director General Aaron N. Aquino said yesterday.

Suspects Christopher Ryan Pallarga and Jemyl Peña yielded at least seven kilograms of marijuana leaves valued at P840,000 in the sting on Duavit Street, Sitio Guping,  Barangay Lunsad in Binangonan.

Aquino said undercover officers from the PDEA Regional Office 4-A conducted the entrapment following weeks of surveillance.

Both suspects are now held at the PDEA Region 4-A lock-up facility facing non-bailable charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 26 (Conspiracy to Sell Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Alfred Dalizon
