A GOVERNMENT controlled delivery operation in Hagonoy, Bulacan on Friday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a man shortly after he received a package from the United States which was found containing some P6.12 million worth of shabu, Police Regional Office 3 director, Chief Superintendent Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said yesterday.
Suspect Jeffrey Samson, a 35-year old resident of Purok 7, Barangay San Jose in Hagonoy was placed under arrest after he received the package and signed the delivery receipt past 2 p.m. Friday.
The package which was sent to Samson from Las Vegas, USA contained a vacuum-sealed plastic with around 900 grams of suspected shabu with a local market value of P6.12 million, said Coronel.
Members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency led the controlled delivery operation with the help of the local police and airport authorities.
The suspect is now being held at the PDEA Region 3 detention facility.
