THREE known ‘high-value targets’ were hauled to jail by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in two separate operations late last week, PDEA chair, Director General Aaron N. Aquino announced yesterday.
The official said that two of the top drug targets identified as Felipe Obiso and Fatima Gadiane were arrested after they conspired to sell some 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 to an undercover officer of the PDEA Regional Office 7 in Sitio Combado, Barangay Cantuod in Balamban, Cebu on Thursday.
Members of the PDEA Region 7 and the local police recovered six heat-sealed plastic sachets containing the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine,’ the buy-bust money and two mobile phones from the suspects.
On the same day, PDEA Region 1 operatives arrested Flor Ryan Mangilinan, the 2nd most wanted drug personality in La Union province, during an entrapment operation in Bgy. Sagayad in San Fernando City.
Described as a member of the Agbunag Drug Group operating in La Union and its nearby provinces, the suspect yielded six plastic sachets containing some seven grams of shabu valued at P40,800, various drug paraphernalia, a cellphone he used in contacting the undercover officer and the marked money paid to him by the poseur.
All three suspects are now facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Aquino.
