FIVE most wanted persons in the country including three New People’s Army personalities have been accounted for by agents of the Philippine National Police Intelligence Group (PNP-IG) in separate operations in the countryside, PNP-IG director, Brigadier General Edgar S. Monsalve announced yesterday.
One of the suspects identified as Renato Molejon, one of the most wanted persons in Western Mindanao was captured in a PNP-IG-led operation in Barangay Pahut in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi last Monday.
Monsalve said members of the Regional Intelligence Unit 9, the PNP Special Action Force, PNP Maritime Group, the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Police Regional Office Regional Intelligence Division and the Bongao Municipal Police Station tracked down the suspect in his hiding place and arrested him on the strength of a warrant of arrest for three counts of rape issued by Judge Reubin Maraon of the Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay Regional Trial Court Branch 24 with no bail recommended.
The 2nd suspect identified as Francisco Campillo, one of Region 4-A’s most wanted men was arrested in his hiding place in Purok 4 in Bgy. Cabacungan in Calbayog City, Samar by members of the RIU 4-A and RIU8 with the assistance of the Western Samar police force also last Monday.
