PNP condemns Cebu gun attack

THE Philippine National Police yesterday condemned the ambush in Talisay City in Cebu which killed the husband of San Fernando Mayor Lakambini Reluya and two others.

“The PNP condemns the violent attack on Mayor Lakambini Reluya of San Fernando, Cebu yesterday afternoon in Talisay City. At the same time, I extend my deepest sympathy to Mayor Reluya for the unfortunate incident that claimed the life of her husband Ricardo Jr., and companions Allan Bayot, and Ricky Monterona,” said PNP chief, Director General Oscar D. Albayalde.

“Consistent with our 8-point supplemental SIDEPLAN for the May 2019 midterm elections security operations, I have given instructions to the regional director of PRO7, Chief Superintendent Debold Sinas to provide round the clock security to Mayor Reluya, Giovani Perez and Tolentin Jefer while they undergo treatment at a local hospital due to gunshot wounds suffered in the attack,” the PNP chief added.

Gen. Albayalde said that the PNP national headquarters, thru all concerned national supporting units will be supporting the Special Investigation Task Group Reluya created by Sinas  to synchronize all investigative efforts by different PNP units to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify and prosecute the perpetrators.
