A POLICE officer was arrested by his colleague for allegedly raping a policewoman undergoing Maritime Trooper Course inside their training center the other day in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
Arrested was PO3 Jer-nie Languian Ramirez, 29, assistant instructor of Maritime Trooper Course.
The instructor was arrested based on the complaint of the victim, Cristy (not her real name), a PO1.
The suspect was arrested at 6:15 p.m. by other assistant instructors and was turned over to the custody of Police Station 2 of Puerto Princesa City Police Office for proper disposition.
According to the victim, the rape incident occurred between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Nov. 12, 2018 inside the Joint Maritime Law Enforcement Training Center located at Sitio Magarwak, Bgy. Sta. Lourdes, Puerto Princesa City.
Accordingly, the victim and her companion were rendering their duty as sentinels in the area when the suspect arrived and asked the victim to accompany him to conduct roving inside the training center.
Although hesitant, the victim was forced by the suspect. While walking in the dark portion of the female comfort room, the suspect allegedly pushed the victim and kissed her.
The victim also claimed that she was threatened by the suspect and brought her to a room at the second floor of an old building where he raped her.
At around 5:45 p.m., the victim told the incident to one of the assistant instructors who informed their course director about the incident.
In response to the complaint, the course director immediately ordered the suspect’s arrest.
