CAMP Olivas, Pampanga -- The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) leadership has created a task force to solve the murder of businessman Dominic Sytin inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Zambales last Nov. 28.
In a statement, PRO3 director Chief Supt. Joel Napoleon Coronel said his office strongly condemns the murder of the Subic businessman and seriously injuring his bodyguard as they were about to enter the Lighthouse Hotel along Waterfront Road in the freeport on the said fateful night.
Coronel said he ordered the creation of “Special Investigation Task Group Lighthouse” to probe and solve the murder case.
Police reports said Sytin was about to enter the hotel when an unidentified man shot him at close range, hitting his back and head that caused his instantaneous death.
The businessman’s bodyguard, identified as Efren Espartero, tried to retaliate but was also shot several times and was hit in the shoulder and torso.
The suspect then fled on board a black motorcycle towards the SBMA Kalaklan Gate.
“SITG Lighthouse is already created and I have ordered an in-depth probe of this incident. We are looking into all angles to establish possible motives. We are now in the process of gathering pieces of evidence that will lead us to the identifiecation of the culprit. We assure the public as well as the victim’s family of our total commitment to ensure immediate resolution of the case through proper investigation,” Coronel said.
He said that should anyone has any information that would help in the resolution of the case, it can be reported to the nearest police station or through PNP hotline 09998838327 or 09176235700.
