THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has allocated around P6.5 million in calamity fund for the victims affected by a strong earthquake that hit the provinces of Pampanga and Zambales.
PCSO Board of Directors member Sandra Cam said the Board has set aside P5 million for Pampanga while Zambales will get P1.5 million in calamity fund.
The calamity fund was set after an assessment on the effects of the earthquake in the whole of Central Luzon.
Cam and a team of PCSO officers went to Pampanga and Zambales in the aftermath of the earthquake to inspect the damage wrought by the strong temblor.
Aside from the calamity fund, the PCSO has been providing medical assistance to the quake victims who are confined in hospitals, through the Individual Medical Assistance Program (IMAP).
Cam also visited the Jose Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital and assured victims of the earthquake that the PCSO will help in the payment of their bills.
“Ang gawin n’yo na lamang ay magdasal at magpalakas, ang gobyerno ang iintindi sa inyong gastusin sa ospital,” Cam said.
