November 20, 2018

Operatives of Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) and Calamba policemen killed a suspected drug pusher and confiscated P400,000 worth of suspected shabu and a gun during an armed encounter in Bgy. Pansol, Calamba City, Monday night.

Supt. Harold Depositar, OIC Calamba police chief, identified the slain suspect as a certain “Omar”.

The operatives were conducting a buy- bust operation at about 11:50  p.m. which resulted in an armed confrontation beside Southwinds Resort, Park 7, Bgy. Pansol.

A policeman, who posed as a buyer, was able to transact with the suspect but the latter sensed his client was a policeman so he drew his 9mm caliber pistol and fired at the lawmen, who was forced to returned fire.

The suspect, who was hit in the body, was rushed to the hospital where he was  pronounced dead on arrival by an attending physician.

Police found from the suspect’s possession a large transparent plastic icebag containing suspected shabu weighing about  100 grams with the street value of P400,000, a 9mm pistol, a genuine P1,000 bill placed on top of the boodle money.
