Quezon now has 517 carriers, 25 new cases

LUCENA CITY--- The continuing increase of confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases alarmed residents of Quezon province which at present has already more than 500 validated virus carriers.

In its 8 a.m. bulletin, the Quezon Public Information Office (QPIO) announced the additional 25 new confirmed càses bringing to 517 the total number of those infected.

Of the 25 cases, 13 are from the towm of mauban, 6 from Candelaria, 3 from Tayabas city, 2 from San Antonio and 1 from Lopez.

At present, this capital city has 129 confirmed cases, the highest in the province but 86 of which have already recovered.

It is followed by Candelaria with 46 cases, Tayabas 44 and Mauban 43.

Of the 517 confirmed cases, 228 have recovered, 19 have died while 270 are confined.

The 2 latest fatalities are from Candelaria and this city.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases started to rise fast a few days after the province was placed under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) status last July 1.
