LUCENA CITY — The stepped-up anti-criminality campaign of the Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) continues to gain better results, police officials said yesterday.
In a press briefing about the QPPO’s operational accomplishments from March 1 to July 8, Quezon police director Col. Ramil Montilla reported that they have arrested 394 drug suspects and seized P56,482,435.20 worth of different illegal drugs.
Seized were 9,027.24 grams of cocaine worth P54,163,400.00; 1,221.18 grams of shabu worth P2,259,172.45, and 1,088.42 grams of marijuana worth P59,862.76.
Montilla said 610 wanted persons, including five most wanted persons, in the regional level were arrested.
In the campaign against loose and unrenewed firearms, the provincial director said 54 persons were nabbed while 58 assorted firearms, including four high-powered guns were confiscated.
Montilla said 797 assorted firearms have been surrendered to the police for safekeeping.
In the anti-illegal logging drive, Montilla said 35 persons were accosted while a total of 19,081 board feet of flitches and lumber worth P1,028,443.00 were confiscated by the authorities.
Some 481 persons were arrested for illegal gambling.
