Quezon road mishap leaves 4 dead

GUMACA, Quezon — Four persons yesterday died while one was seriously injured in a delivery truck and  Mitsubishi Mirage smashup on Maharlika Highway in Bgy. Panikihan, this town.

Town police commander Major Rodelio Calawit identified the fatalities as car driver Joseph Dumlao, 33, a seaman and a resident of #11 San Miguel St Kapitolyo Pasig City;  Rozalie Soldevilla, 35, a seawoman; Raquel Tomas Soldevilla, 42, and Rodolfo Soldevilla, all of Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Another car occupant, Roxanne Soldevilla, 25, a hotel receptionist, was seriously injured.

The Isuzu truck driven by William Pelareja, 34, was on way to Manila when the incoming South-bound car from the opposite direction driven by Dumlao suddenly occupied the left lane of the highway that triggered the collision at 4:35 a.m. yesterday.

Dumalo and the three Soldevillas all sustained severe injuries and were  declared dead on arrival at the Gumaca District Hospital.
