SARIAYA, Quezon -- The stepped-up campaign of Quezon Police Provincial Office against wanted persons has scored anew with the arrest of a former militiaman listed as a Quezon town’s most wanted man, at Bgy. Tumbaga 1, here.
Quezon police director Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman indentified the nabbed felon as Angelo Devilles, 34, a former member of Civilian Auxillary Forces Geographic Unit (CAFGU) facing illegal possession of explosives and murder charges.
De Guzman said Devilles, the town’s most wanted man of Atimonan, Quezon, was arrested by joint police operatives led by SPO4 Roilan Algire, Warrant Section chief of Sariaya Police Station under Supt. Julio Reyes Go on the strength of two arrest orders issued by Judge Arnel Caparros of Atimonan Municipal Circuit Trial Court.
Algire, citing police records, recalled that on the afternoon of May 6 last year, Devilles and his victim Lito Inal, 32, were having a drinking spree with their relatives in Bgy. Malinao Ibaba when misunderstanding suddenly erupted between the duo.
After being pacified by relatives, Algire said Devilles left the place but immediately returned, wielding a bolo and a home-made gun.
Without uttering a word, he said Devilles hacked and stabbed Inal several times in the body, then escaped.
The victim was rushed to Doña Marta Memorial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Devilles is now detained at Sariaya Lock-Up Jail.
