Resort guard shoots 2 drunk men in Zambo City

POLICE  early yesterday morning arrested a 44-year-old security guard of the Golf Beach Resort in Upper, Calarian, Zamboanga City after he shot and wounded two drunken men at the height of their heated argument, a Police Regional Office 9 report said.

Suspect Carlito Calvo, an employee of the Greenleaf Security Agency, yielded a cal. .38 revolver he used in firing at Roland Talab, 24; and Boyet Agustin, 30, inside the beach resort at 12:20 a.m. yesterday.

Talab, a resident of Sucabon, Zone 2, Zamboanga City, and Agustin, of Golf Village, Upper Calarian, were drinking liquor inside the latter’s house when they decided to resume their drinks inside the resort being guarded by the suspect.

The two went to a videoke-resto bar first but later transferred to another bar. After some moments, the two stopped drinking and , feeling dizzy, Rebollos sat on a motorcycle parked in the area.

Angered, the guard called the attention of the two until they had a heated argument.

At the height of their altercation, the guard shot Talab.

Seeing his friend wounded, Agustin tried to grab the suspect’s firearm but was overpowered and was shot in the hand.

The suspect fled after the shooting but was arrested by the  police in a follow-up operation.
