Robbers kill 2 in Bukindon

STILL unidentified robbers killed a retired public school teacher and his boarder in Malaybalay City in Bukidnon province early morning Monday before fleeing with a still undetermined amount of cash and other valuables including a gun, a Police Regional Office 10 report said yesterday.

According to Bukidnon Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Roel Lami-ing, the bodies of 62-year old Aquialiano Limocon and his boarder Roger Ramonal,52, a local government employee were discovered inside the latter’s house at Zone 2, Barangay 1 in Malaybalay City around 7:15 a.m. Monday.

Lami-ing said that one Wilfredo Eslarang, 38, a welder from Purok 5, Kibalabag, Malaybalay City working for Limocon discovered the bodies of the two when he went inside to drink water.

The witness said he got frightened when he saw Ramonal lying face down at the kitchen floor with blood oozing from his body. The man also said that he rushed upstairs to inform Limocon but was shocked to find out that his employer was also lying unconscious at the living room, with blood gushing from his throat.

Local policemen who were called to investigate the case said that Ramonal suffered five stab wounds in different parts of thebody while Limocon was stabbed in the throat.

“This appears to be a robbery with homicide case,” Lami-ing told PRO10 director, Brigadier General Rolando B. Anduyan.

Scene-of-the-Crime-Operations (SOCO) operatives from the local Crime Laboratory processed the crime scene and ruled there was no sign of forced entry in the area. Investigators also found out that several belongings of the victims were moved while Limocon’s two vaults were left open.

An empty pistol case was also found on top of the victim’s sofa.

Both victims died while being taken to the Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center in the city.

As of press time, the Malaybalay City police are still conducting an investigation to establish the motive and identities of the suspect or suspect, said local police chief, Lieutenant Col. Jerry Tambis.
