A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy died while two others were wounded in a rockslide that hit their house on Friday in Sta. Maria, Bulacan.
Leonard Dorimon Jr. was pulled from the rubble by search and rescue volunteers at 4 a.m. yesterday. He was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.
The wounded were the tot’s grandmother, Teresita Auditor, 60; and his cousin Andrea Auditor. The two were rushed to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
The victims were resting in their house at Sitio Gulod, Bgy. San Jose Patag, Santa Maria municipality when the rocks crashed their house at 3 p.m. on Friday.
Police said the place was a former quarry site.
Leonard Dorimon, 35, the boy’s father, said he was outside their house cleaning his motorcycle when he heard a loud sound of falling tree. When the father looked up, he saw a huge rock fell into their house.
Leonard immediately sought the help of their neighbors to search for his family from the ruins.
Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Sta. Maria, the BFP Regional Office 3 and the Sta. Maria Rescue Unit immediately conducted a rescue operation.
