PAGBILAO, QUEZON -- Police operatives shot dead a suspected drug supplier who resisted while he was about to be arrested by policemen during a drug buy bust operation at Brentwood Subd. Bgy. Mayhay here Friday night.
Quezon police director, Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman identified the slain suspect as Mark Oliver Albuera, a resident of Mabini, Batangas but was temporarily staying at said village, and has a safe house in Lucena City.
De Guzman said the suspect suffered gunshot wounds in the body during the shootout and died instantly.
Town police commander, Chief Insp. Francisco Panisan, said the shootout took place at around 6:30 p.m. while his men were conducting the drug bust operation at the said village whose target was the suspect.
“While the suspect was transacting with one of his policemen who acted as poseur buyer, he sensed that the person he was dealing with was a cop”, said Panisan.
At that point, Panisan said the suspect quickly pulled a cal. 38 revolver and fought it out with the policemen prompting the latter and the other cops to fire back.
“The suspect was hit several times and died on the spot”, Panisan said.
The suspect’s unidentified cohort, he said, managed to escape on a motorcycle.
He said probers recovered around five grams of suspected shabu with DDB value of 9,260, from the suspect and the Colt cal. 38 revolver loaded with three live bullets he used.
Panisan said the suspect, who used to supply drugs coming from Batangas, was related to the group of seven suspected pushers, three of them women, who were arrested by his operatives during a buy bust operation last Tuesday inside Palayisdaan Hotel at Bgy. Alupaye, here.
He was referring to Rexon Balingasa, Joseph Puche, 34, Cristy Ann Salamangue, all of Biñan, Laguna; Jonathan Oga, 32, Aidin Guiali, 21, Sarah Alag, 32, and Reyha Oga, 22, all of Bicutan, Taguig City.
Using 14 pieces of marked P500 bills and 21 pieces of P1,000 bills, Panisan said his men carried out the operation resulting to the suspects’ arrest and seizure of 101.74 grams of suspected shabu with DDB value of P188,219, various drug paraphernalia,cellular phones and the used marked money.
