POLICE launched its first ever major anti-criminality operation in Siquijor province on Friday resulting in the arrest of 33 suspects and the confiscation of drugs and weapons, Police Regional Office 7 director, Chief Superintendent Debold M. Sinas announced yesterday.
The official said of the 33 suspects arrested, 3 are wanted for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2003; two for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013; 20 for violation of the anti-gambling law, one for direct assault and one for reckless imprudence resulting to serious physical injuries.
Members of the Siquijor Police Provincial Office also confiscated one unlicensed caliber .45 pistol and a cal. .38 revolver and an estimated P12,000 worth of shabu.
Sinas also noted that all four search warrants for violation of RA 9165 and RA 10591 yielded positive results with the arrest of the targets and the confiscation of dangerous drugs.
