GO Bong Go! Go Bong Go!
Thus chanted adoring supporters during a motorcade by former Special Assistant to the President and 2019 senatorial candidate Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go around the city of Cagayan de Oro.
Nakawawala ng pagod at nakaka-inspire na magserbisyo para sa kapakanan ninyo,” Go said in an ambush interview.
The former SAP made the statement after going around the city in a motorcade where he received enthusiastic welcome from the people of CdO.
Go decided to visit the Cogon Market after the motorcade where he was also mobbed by his supporters.
Chants of “Go! Bong Go! Go! Bong Go!” echoed at the market when the customers realized the former SAP was taking his meal at one of the eateries.
Go stood on one of the chairs and waved to the crowd, receiving back cheers and applause from the crowd that started to get bigger when the customers at the market also learned it was not only Go who was there but also his friends, actors Robin Padilla and Philip Salvador.
If elected to the Senate, Go vowed to continue the programs and policies of President Rodrigo Duterte.
He also said that a Senate seat should be utilized to help uplift the lives of the Filipino people.
Maraming salamat po,” he said.
Other priority concerns on Go’s legislative agenda are programs for agriculture, housing for the poor, education, long-term sports development, fire protection and prevention, localized peace talks, barangay welfare, creation of a Department of OFW and improved benefits for senior citizens.
Meanwhile on his visit to Marawi City, Go reaffirmed his solidarity with his Muslim brothers as he vowed to help the city rise from the ashes of conflict.
Bangon Marawi po, mabuhay po ang taga-Marawi,” Go said at the rally of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan at the Mindanao State University gym.
He recalled that he had established a close relationship with Muslims while serving as assistant to then Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
Go stressed that Duterte treated Christians and Muslims equally in Davao City, noting the city has passed an Anti-Discrimination ordinance, adding: “Ganun namin kamahal ang aming mga kapatid na Muslim sa Davao.”
Go appealed to the people of Marawi to help President Duterte win the fight against the menace of illegal drugs.
