Suspect in killing of SAF 44 captured

ONE of the gunmen who killed 44 commandos from the elite Philippine National Police Special Action Force who were out on a mission to neutralize Southeast Asia’s most wanted terrorist Zulk-fli bin Hir alias “Marwan” in Mamasapano, Maguindanao in 2015 was captured last Saturday by agents of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Cotabato.

PNP-CIDG chief Maj. Gen. Amador Corpus said Tamano Esmail Sapba alias “Tamano Sabpa Esmael” was arrested at the parking area of the Cotabato Regional Hospital at 2 p.m. on Saturday by members of the CIDG Maguindanao Provincial Field Unit, with the help of the Cotabato City Police Office.

No bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of all suspects in the murder of the SAF 44.
